Design a banner for UCU!

UCU HQ is looking for a national traditional-style union banner design – the deadline for any design submissions will be Wednesday 1 August.

The dimensions are: 8ft x 6ft. Final artwork to be submitted to the banner makers for the appliqued method will need to be a PDF / jpg and so this would need to be considered in the design process.
It should include the UCU logo and reflect UCU’s values of education, equality and solidarity.

I’m sure you can do better than my placard for last year’s strike in November!

UCU national HE news – May 2012

You can find the latest HE News online here

Couple of items caught my eye:

Researchers:  UCU has met with David Willetts & is seeking a meeting with the govt BIS dept to highlight the problems associated with insecure employment and lack of career progression for our research members

Teacher educators:  The UCU Policy Department has an electronic network with the contact details of UCU members in all parts of teacher education.  This enables us to seek your views on issues affecting teacher education. If you are interested in being part of this network, please contact Diana Hendry: dhendry@ucu.org.uk
